At our psychotherapy practice, we take a compassionate and holistic approach to improving body image. We recognize that body image exists on a spectrum, and that the ultimate goal isn’t always body love, but rather fostering acceptance. Drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we help clients live in line with their values, encouraging them to distance themselves from negative thoughts and beliefs about their bodies. We believe it is entirely possible to feel better about your body without having to alter it. Through concepts like body neutrality, self-compassion, and exploring the influence of societal pressures (hello social media!), we support clients in improving their self-care activities and, in turn, improving their body image.
