Students who attend school out-of-state but live in Massachusetts for the summer are welcome to meet with one of our therapists for short-term therapy (i.e. approx. 8-16 weeks), either virtually or in-person. If you feel nervous about moving back home for the summer and, as a result, pausing* meeting with the therapist you’ve been seeing all year at school, you are not alone.
Collaboratively, we will create a treatment plan identifying your short-term goals and specific objectives that will help you reach these goals.
Transitioning to a new therapist can feel difficult; it can feel like a lot to “start over” with someone else. To help assuage this, with your permission, we will collaborate with your previous therapist and other members of your mental health care/treatment team, where applicable.
Please contact us with questions or to schedule an intake!

*Unfortunately, licensing laws are often a barrier to consistency of care for college students moving home for the summer. This is because, at the time of the appointment, clients must be physically located in the state in which their therapist is licensed.
