Jamie Singer, LMHC

Jamie (she/her) is a weight-neutral therapist who specializes in the treatment of eating disorders/disordered eating, body image, trauma, and anxiety. Jamie also has a special interest in supporting clients navigating the complexities of chronic illness.

Jamie completed her clinical internship working directly with clients struggling with eating disorders at the partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care. She then went on to work as a primary therapist and team lead at the center, where she particularly focused on helping clients process the impact trauma has on the development and maintenance of their eating disorder as well as their interpersonal relationships.

Jamie values a strong therapeutic relationship with clients and believes healing is a relational process. She uses Motivational Interviewing as a key part of the therapeutic process to empower clients to take ownership of change. Jamie believes in helping clients build awareness of their emotional experiences and how to meet their emotional needs. Jamie also uses tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help clients identify unsustainable thinking patterns and introduce alternate, sustainable, and values-aligned ways of thinking.

Jamie treats individuals ages 17+, and provides in-person care at our Newton Centre office, as well as via telehealth.

Jamie has a keen interest in sports psychology, and outside of the office, Jamie can be found on the volleyball court! Jamie also enjoys being in nature, caring for her plants, cooking, and traveling.
